Faith focused her attention on Buffy, listening carefully to the dream's details. She could understand why Buffy couldn't sleep after that. It definitely sounded like one of those creepy cryptic dreams to her. The question was, why had Buffy been the only one to get it? Sure, Faith had gotten something, but nothing as intense of what Buffy had gotten.
She tried not to read too much into it at the moment, but it was enough to make her wonder. After everything had happened, all this time, was Faith still the "other" slayer?
"Sounds like a trip," she said. She ran a hand through her hair and flicked an ash off the end of her cigarette.
"Anything else you remember?" She studied Buffy, still trying to remember the details of her own dream. Maybe there was something in it she'd missed.

Buffy struggled to remember the details of her dream, what had been said.
"Um... She said I didn't know what it meant to be a slayer. We're supposed to be cold and independent, die young, blah, blah, blah. You know, the good old fashioned way of thinking. I'll bet she thinks we should bring back burning witches at the stake, too." Buffy rolled her eyes and shook her head, re-positioning herself so she could stretch her legs out on the ground.
"She said the same stuff to me during this vision quest I had to do once. Except, that time there was also some stuff about death being a gift." She stretched her neck from side to side, hearing it crack as she did. Was your neck supposed to crack before you were forty? Maybe being a slayer wore you out faster. She rubbed the back of her neck, feeling the muscles loosen up.

As Buffy talked about the dream Faith was half-listening and half-analyzing her own dream, trying to figure out if the two could have been connected.
The first slayer had said the slayer line was broken, slayers were supposed to be independent, and mentioned the old "one girl in all the world" motto. Faith had dreamed she was surrounded by young women who gradually started disappearing.
It occurred to Faith that even though she and Buffy hadn't had the same dream, their dreams could have still been connected. Buffy had gotten the first part of the puzzle, and Faith had gotten the second.
Faith gave Buffy a look when she said something about a vision quest and death being a gift.
"I don't even wanna know what you were doing on a 'vision quest.'" Faith smirked and raised an eyebrow. She'd read about Native American kids going on vision quests. It always sounded like an acid trip to her, and she wondered if straight-laced Buffy had done a little dance with substance abuse.
She took a long draw from her cigarette and let the smoke out in a sigh.
"Alright, this isn't gonna make you feel better, but I had a dream, too," she said. "Nothin' like the one you got slapped with, but I'm starting to think mine wasn't a coincidence." Faith crouched down across from Buffy, resting her free hand on her knee while holding her cigarette in the other.
"I think I was at a club or something - there was a bar. And I had to squeeze my way through this crowd of chicks. Not one guy in the room. I remember when I got back from the bar there weren't as many people. By the time I got back to the other side of the room there was almost nobody." Faith shrugged and carefully sat down, crossing both legs underneath her.
"By itself I didn't think it was a big deal, but when you put it together with your dream... Maybe it means something." She took another haul off her cigarette, inhaling and exhaling slowly. She had a feeling this was about to be a long night.

Buffy rolled her eyes and smiled, shaking her head at Faith's vision quest comment.
"It wasn't like that," she said. She took a breath and let it out, feeling better about the dream now that she'd talked to someone about it. Not just anyone, but someone who understood her concern from first-hand experience.
Buffy looked at Faith in surprise as her stomach tightened into a knot. Why hadn't she said anything earlier? As Faith continued, explaining the dream in more detail, Buffy listened, all the while getting more and more worried.
Buffy sighed.
"Ohhh, great," she muttered. "And here I was hoping we were allowed to have nightmares that didn't mean some big bad thing was about to happen." She stood up, propping the door open with one knee while she brushed dirt off her pajama pants.
"I guess this means we should have some kind of meeting, huh?" There was a reluctance in her voice, but she knew they couldn't keep this information to themselves.

Buffy didn't sound at all pleased to hear about Faith's dream. Faith couldn't blame her, really. Something Buffy had thought was just a random dream had just turned into a really big deal.
Faith chuckled and shook her head.
"No kidding." She stood up when Buffy did, taking one last drag off her cigarette before dropping it to the ground and putting it out with her shoe. Buffy suggested having a meeting.
"Only if you're in the mood to wrangle a bunch of freaked out slayers," she said. "'Cause... yeah, that's kinda not my thing." She stepped through the door and strolled into the lobby, wondering what the hell they were supposed to do. So, there was some kind of danger coming for the slayer line. But, they had no idea what or when.
"Hey, just a thought... Maybe we should talk to Giles or something before we go panicking the slayers," she said. "See if we can figure out what this is all about." Or, maybe Willow could shed some light on it. Her spell had made all these slayers in the first place. Maybe she could figure out what was going to happen. One thing at a time, she reminded herself.

When Buffy suggested the meeting Faith pointed out that she didn't want to have to wrangle a bunch of freaked out slayers. Buffy frowned.
"Hmm. Good point," she admitted. Of course the girls would be freaked out if they told them. Maybe some of them already were. Had Buffy and Faith been the only ones to have prophetic dreams? She made a mental note to keep an eye out for slayers wandering around. In the morning she'd ask if any of them remembered having a strange dream the night before.
Buffy followed Faith inside and closed the door behind her, silently grateful to be back inside. It had been a little chilly out there. Faith suggested they talk to Giles before telling the other slayers what was going on. Buffy thought about that. It was a solid idea. He could try to help them research this a little further, maybe offer some advice.
"I wonder what time it is in London," she muttered. "I used to know this..." She sighed and put her hands on her hips.
"Okay, one of us should probably call Giles," she agreed. "But, there's a chance if we got cryptic warning dreams some of the other girls did, too, so one of us should go around checking in on them." Her brain was in Leadership Mode now and she was trying to think of all the things they should do. She wondered if they should call Angel, too, and let him know something was going on. A compromised army probably wasn't much better than no army at all.

After thinking for a few seconds Buffy agreed that somebody should call Giles, but she also pointed out some of the other slayers might have had dreams, too. She suggested somebody check in on all of them.
"Okay, I am not on slayer duty. I'll call Giles," she said. She folded her arms across her chest. Buffy could delegate all she wanted, but Faith wasn't taking orders. Besides, Buffy was better at the whole group thing. Faith was more of a loner.
"And, what about Willow?" she asked. "She's the reason we have so many slayers in the first place. Maybe she could help us figure this out." Faith and Willow weren't exactly pals, so she wasn't sure she should be the one to try calling her. Maybe Buffy could take that mission.

Buffy wasn't surprised when Faith offered to call Giles.
"Fine," she said. She listened as Faith asked about Willow, suggesting maybe she could help, considering she'd done the spell to activate all the slayers. Buffy nodded.
"Good thinking," she said. "I could give her a call. I was thinking we should probably give Angel a heads up, too. Not that he needs this right now with everything else that's going on. But, considering he's counting on having an army of slayers in his back pocket, it might be a good idea to let him know that's a little iffy." A part of her wanted to call Angel herself out of an old pang of jealousy, but she shoved it aside. This wasn't about her and it wasn't personal. This was business, for lack of a better term.

Faith was relieved when Buffy offered to call Willow. That would be a less awkward conversation, anyway. Buffy suggested giving Angel a heads up and Faith nodded.
"Sounds good. So, you're calling Willow and checking on the girls. I'm calling Giles and Angel?" She wrinkled her brows and gave Buffy a questioning look. She wasn't sure where she stood with Angel exactly or if she was stepping on Buffy's toes by offering to call him.

Buffy looked at Faith as she ran down their individual assignments to clarify. Buffy thought and nodded.
"Yeah. That sounds like a good plan," she said. Whatever animosity they'd felt toward one another in the past, Buffy and Faith seemed to make a solid team now. They were both different people, she guessed. At least, she hoped so.
"Should we meet back here in the lobby when we're done and fill each other in?" She shrugged and ran a hand through her hair. She'd definitely have to change and run a brush through her hair before she did anything.

Buffy agreed on the plan and Faith nodded.
"Cool." She was glad Buffy seemed a little less uptight about things than she remembered. A few years ago Faith making a phone call to Angel would have been enough to get her stabbed. Okay, so the one time Buffy had stabbed her she'd been trying to kill the guy, but still. It was a sore spot, and she was glad Buffy seemed to trust her more these days.
Faith started heading for the stairs while Buffy suggested they meet back in the lobby.
"Yeah. And if you find any other slayers talking about crazy dreams, bring 'em with you," she called. The more information they could get, the better. Faith walked up the stairs and pulled her room key out of her jacket pocket. She'd have to get her cell phone and see if she had the right number for Giles.
